Assistance is available to very low-income families that wish to reside in Port Arthur. Additionally, applicants must be at or below 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI)1 , participate in a self-sufficiency program, occupy the assisted property as the primary residence, and sign a lease. The amount of monthly rental subsidy is based on the gross monthly income of an applicant’s household. The program participant must not already be receiving Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance.

TBRA is a program funded by by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), managed, and operated in the City of Port Arthur by Legacy Community Development Corporation. The funding source for the TBRA program is the HOME-ARP grant.
